With plentyful skiing within easy driving range, Chambery Airport has in recent years become a popular winter destination for visitors to the slopes.

The most popular destination for skiers into Chambery is the 3 Valleys which is around 1h 30m drive away. A 5 door hire car can often be found for less that £200 making car hire more convenient option that a transfer depending on your circumstances. Luxury vehicles and 4×4′s are also available for hire at Chambery Airport as well as minibuses such as a Renault Traffic.

It is around 80 minutes drive from Chambery Airport to Meribel in a hire car (approximately 100km). Bear in mind that as you start to climb towards Meribel in ski season you will most likely encounter snow so ensure you have snow chains with you when you collect your rental car.

Avis, National, Europcar and Hertz are all located at Chambery Airport in the car hire cabin just in front of the main terminal building.

Snow chains are available at this Avis depot on request. Note the extended opening hours above on weekends to accomodate increased traffic during ski season changeover days.
