Alamo operate an Alamo Gold policy in the USA which is essentially an extras package offering:
- Full to empty fuel policy
- 3 free additional drivers
Before taking out the Alamo Gold policy first calculate how much it is costing your for the duration of your rental. The car hire desk will often quote a ‘per day’ price to make the policy seem cheaper than it is. You will also need to be aware of the fuel policy if you do not take out the Alamo Gold cover. For example a lot of Alamo vehicles have a full/full fuel policy as standard which means you simply return the vehicle with a full tank when you return it. If you are not expecting to use a full tank of fuel, that would be the best fuel option to take. However if you are driving long distances and sharing the driving, the Alamo Gold policy may prove worthwhile.

The Green Motion depot at East Midlands airport is located within the Regus Office centre adjacent to the airport.
The depot is ‘off airport’ so Green Motion will collect you in arrivals and drive you to the depot so you can sign the relevant documents and collect your hire car.

Locauto offers a free cancellation policy up to 48 hours before you rental commences. If you cancel 48 hours of commencement you will be changed a 50 euro cancellation fee.

In order to get to the depot from a Heathrow terminal you will need to catch the ‘Heathrow Hoppa’ number H56 operated by National Express. The bus stops are at

Terminal 4: Bus stop 12
Terminal 5: Bus stop 26 & 27
The charge is £4 one way or £7 return. Tickets can be purchased from the central bus station, the British Hotel Reservation Centre in the terminal building and the bus stop ticket machines.

If you are hiring a car with Enterprise in the UK you are permitted to take the car anywhere on the UK mainland. However, if you wish to travel from the UK to Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland there is a one off fee of £150. You will also need to ensure your vehicle is returned to a depot within the mainland UK. One ways from mainland UK to NI and ROI are not permitted.

Should you wish to cancel your reservation with Holiday Autos you will be liable for a cancellation fee depending on when the rental was due to commence.
7 or more days before start of rental: £15
3 – 6 days before start of rental: 50% of rental value
0 – 2 days before start of rental: 75% of rental value
Reservations must be made in writing to cancellations@holidayautos.co.uk, if your car hire is in Spain, the Balearic Islands or Portugal you will need to email cancellations@ch.holidayautos.com.
