"The rating would have been higher had you explained that the insurance taken out with your recommended company was NOT recognised by Budget. they said that in the event of an accident they would charge and I would have to claim back from the insurance company. they even offered their own insurance."

"Very efficient procedure at pick up point, both for collection and return. Almost brand new car in excellent condition. No problems whatsoever The car was ready on arrival at the airport. I have used this car hire company before I will have no hesitation to do so again."

"Whilst Auto Europe is not the provider of the vehicle they should be responsible for the conduct of the provider they engage on our behalf. bad providers reflect bad managment by Auto Europe. Rep (NIZA CAR HIRE)was not at the airport gate to meet us. He did not respond to our phone call ( Went to answer phone) Finally turned up after about 40 mins met him by chance in the Car Park ( No Company Office of Care Hire signs to guide us at to where to find car)"

"On booking the car everything went well, no problems, just one small snag, I realised I hadnt changed the default time for the start of the rental, I sent an email, but got no reply, not knowing if it went through or not, I cancelled (it was easy) and just rebooked with the correct time,. A very recommendable service and the car was from Budget and as usual no problems whatsoever, who could ask more more? I am saying 4 out of 5 but its more closer to 5 out of 5.."

"I did not understand that I was booking through a 3rd party. I thought the car hire name was Auto Europe so I arrived at airport and looked for Auto rental desk. I was happy with the car when i realised situation. It does need to be made much clearer!!!"

"Good cheap service, the only problem being that the car hire voucher didnt state which company the hire car was with so when we arrived at barcelona airport we had to call to find out. I like how the website states where the hire car desk is situated because to many times we have booked a hire car only to find out when we arrive that you have to take a shuttle to the car company"

"As the car was rented on the day, I had to contact Auto Europe for the rental voucher to be sent. It was dealt with immediately. But the automated email was only sent at 6am the next day which would mean that I wouldn't have ever received it in available time. Also, there were a lot of hidden taxes that I was unhappy about."

"No complaints about Auto Europe, but when we arrived at Pisa Airport, the wait to collect the car from Europcar was around 2.5 hours. Almost everyone at the airport was waiting for a car from Europcar. We decided we didn't want to wait that long, and went to Sixt, where there was no queue. To rent on the day was more expensive, and we of course lost the money we had spent reserving the car, but when you only have a limited amount of time on holiday, you don't want to waste it stuck in a car rental centre in a queue. BTW, Sixt were great - the car was great, no hassle at all."

"When we arrived at Shannon Airport late in the evening to collect the car the lady on the Auto Europe desk was freindly and helpful and processed our paperwork quickly. When we got to the car we did a check to see if there was any exsiting damage on the car and compare to the check sheet the lady had given us. We identifed 2 dents that weren't marked on the check sheet so my wife went back in to get the lady to come and have a look at them but the lady was happy to take my wife's word on it and updated the check sheet accordingly. When returning the car early at 6.30 am it was a different story. We waited at least 10 to 15mins before anyone came to deal with us as it turned out the guy who checked the cars back in was also the same guy who drove the shuttle bus to and from the terminal. We had left enough time to get from the car hire place to the airport but this was lost waiting around for the one guy to deal with us. Any longer and we may have missed our checking in time or even missed our flight. The car itself was perfect for what we wanted it for, so no issues there. Overall it was ok, however i would check other hire compaines in future before using this one again."

"The paperwork suggested that there was a desk in the terminal to collect the car keys from but this was not correct. As the paperwork DID NOT inform me who the hire company was I had to physically que at every car hire office in the car park until I found somebody who recognised my name and details. This took almost one hour and as you can imagine left me quite narked by the time I collected the car."

"I can't fault any part of this rental: making the booking was simple, the car was clean and ready to go when I arrived, and performed with no problem whatsoever through the rental period. Return was straightforward and rapid. I will certainly be looking at this company for my next rental, and will spread the word to friends."

"No need to contact auto europe through the rental period. Car was very good value, only issue was we struggled to find out who the supplier was. In the end it was Avis, but this was only identified as Avs in our documentation. WOuld have been nice if it were clearer but overall the value for money was excellent. The car was upgrade and in brand new and the service from Avis very good indeed."

"Normally with Car Hire Search and AutoEurope everything has run very smoothly, and it has been very reasonable. HOWEVER, this time I was told I had to use as much petrol as possible and bring the tank back empty (they charged me â?¬104 for a whole tank - extortionate!). And how are you supposed to deliver a car with an empty tank? Daylight robbery... In addition I was told that in Spain I was not covered for damage to the car, so had to take out additional insurance on arrival. All in all, not great."

"We looked online for a car hire at Carcassonne And it came up with Auto Europe as a very reasonable price. we decided to book with them in the end. The only thing i wasnt happy about is that. when we arrived at the airport and went to get the car. We didnt have enough deposit for the car. it was stated in the terms & conditions that we had to pay a deposit but it didnt state how much. The very rude lady from the car collection was not helpfull at all. We needed to pay £400 deposit on the card we booked with for them to hold as deposit. We had a couple of hundred put by for this. and offered her the rest in cash but the very rude lady was not prepared to help us out in anyway what so ever. she would have left us at the airport with no car unless we get the full £400 on the card. This put us in a very stressfull situation. She kept on at us saying no money on card, then no car. As we stood with my wife and 2 children stuck at the airport with no means of transport to our destination and very upset. The last resort was to call home and get my disabled father to pay for us. but she would not take another card payment. We had to get him to go to our bank and pay in the £400 so we could get on our way. So all in all i would not rate the car company we picked the car up off at all. and would never use again."

"We originally booked to collect and return the car to Nantes airport but had to change our plans to collect from Paris Beauvais and deliver to Nantes. The person that we contacted at Europecar was very helpful in making this change for us. However, before we were able to make contact with Europecar by phone we went to the Europecar/ Budget desk at Dublin airport and asked for assistance to make the necessary changes as we couldn't get access to a telephone the man in charge of the desk wouldn't help us as he said he wasn't Europecar and told us to try Tourist Information. This was very dissapointing as their name was stated on our travel voucher. Eventually dublin airport information was able to assist us by contacting Europecar on our behalf,"

"I did not have any contact with AE but all went well with car hire itself. The hire staff were average. The car was good but had a faulty fuel gauge which led to a little strife. It was a good hire."

"Car, Peugeot 208, was excellent, very clean and no problems encountered during our two week hire in Southern France. Unfortunately, we had a small accident (not our fault!) and the hire company was most helpful. We would definitely use them again."
