Manchester Airport Guide
Manchester Airport is roughly 20 minutes drive from central Manchester. On the M56 motorway, Manchester Airport has a dedicated link road from the motorway at junction 5. Directions to terminals at Manchester Airport are well signed from all approach roads with colour-coded cubes indicating the best route to each terminal and its car parks.
For the business person, Manchester Airport provides adequately with the Business Centre which is located in terminal one. It offers a wide range of professional business support services including private workstations with telephones, fax, photocopying and Internet service.
For children and their parents there is a Playcare Centre in the Departures Lounge of Terminal 1. Open 24 hours a day the centre is available to children under 4'4" or 132cm. The area allows young children to play or watch TV in a special childrens area. Video games are also available in the Terminal 1 Departures Lounge as well as in Terminal 2 before Security Control.
There are also games available in the arrivals area of Terminal 3. Art desks are available throughout Manchester Airport. They are located at most eating areas and provide colour in books and crayons.
For the plane spotter The Spectator's Terrace is located at Terminal 1 on Level 13 of the Multi-Storey Car Park. The Spectator's Terrace allows you to watch the planes from a superb vantage point. On Level 13 you'll also find telescopes, refreshment facilities and the Aviation Shop which offers aircraft radios, books, souvenirs and models.
Manchester Airport also cater for the disabled by providing low level telephones, wheelchair usage and specially designed toilets. A wide cross-section of staff have also received training in sign language.
