  • Customers should be weary that the Company will try and sell you more expensive hire cars for astronomically high rental charges. The car that I hired was "not available" at the time as I was an hour early. The company therefore tried to hard sell a BMW 1 Series at three times the value of the amount I had already paid. I declined, but did opt to upgrade to a slightly larger car in any event. Upon picking up the keys for the upgraded car, I noticed that the original car was ready - the Company clearly wanted to see if they could sell a more expensive car. #

  • Vehicle in good condition, and worked well, wasn't washed on the outside but that was no problem, car hire place isn't on site at the airport had to take a bus from the airport which was confusing trying to find the right stop and then the bus moved at a snails pace!! Reception was a shambles, this took way too long and they didn't seem to know what they were doing. One man constantly kept saying he needed to leave now and yet 30mins later he was still waiting for someone to show him to his car, felt sorry for him. They spend too much time on trying to sell you their insurance and petrol than on the helping the customer have a smooth and speedy experience #

  • Easirent run through argushire was terrible. They had strange fuel policy. Took a huge deposit which was away for ages and it took almost 2 hours to get the car with lots of issues. Everyone customer in the long line at the desk was upset with all the weird red tape. Terrible #

  • Convenient bus to Budget site at Heathrow, friendly helpful driver who helped load up our bags on the bus. Quick and efficient service when picking up. Only negative was that no map of how to get onto the M25 or how to return to the car rental site provided which meant we got quite lost on the way back! Very easy helpful drop off and staff once again helped us with bags, car seat, buggy etc which was much appreciated. #

  • When we arrived we were offered a car that had a dirty driver's seat (chocolate or something similar), when we complained, they changed the car over but that car was not particularly clean on the outside and the petrol tank was not full as indicated on the paperwork, so not too impressed. #

  • This is a review for Easirent, not Auto Europe. The service we had with Auto Europe was fine and straightforward. With Easirent, however, our experience is a nasty one I'm afraid. We hired our car from the Heathrow branch for 1 day (Saturday to Sunday) and drove and returned it without difficulty. We loved the Ford Focus we got, actually. On return, they briefly checked the car for damages, which there were none, and signed something saying 'No Damages'. Two days later, they emailed us out of the blue saying there was damage to the tyre (a 'bulge'), so they have taken £100+vat off our deposit. I have been fighting this ever since, asking for a picture for proof, or even an itemised bill asking them to quantify the damage as £100. On calling the office, they explained that they did take a picture and sent it to head office for approval of the damage charge, but conveniently can't seem to find it in their email systems. Radio silence from them ever since. There is NO PROOF that they haven't simply made this up, and there is no procedure or approval process to protect the customer from these false claims. I am taking this issue to BBC WatchDog, BVRLA, and CACS. Auto Europe would be better off cutting ties with this company if they want to save their own reputation. #

  • Access from Heathrow is by the hotel bus service and the directions given by email before arrival were less than helpful - there are no signs for a "Hotel Hoppa" bus and the route numbers should have an "L" in front. Pick up at the Holiday Inn was slow but the car was ready, clean and in good condition. While the counter staff were helpful, they did not have full details of the booking (why not?) which included a free additional driver. They then made me pay for the additional driver (I did not have the full booking email with me either). I had the car for 3 weeks and it ran perfectly and economically and was very comfortable. On return, I now had the full booking email, showed the counter staff that a free additional driver was indeed included and was promised a refund within two days. After two weeks, this had still not happened. Return service was quick and helpful, but it seemed to take forever for the bus back to Heathrow to appear. While this is advertised as located at "Heathrow", it is in fact some 20-30 minutes away. I would rate this car hire company 3/5, Average. #

  • Collection and the time of the rental was all good. The ;level of service offered hen the car was returned could have been better in terms of courtesy bus back to the Terminal. When this was questioned the person in the rental office was less than interested. It seems a small detail but was annoying nevertheless at the end of the rental period. #

  • A couple of things. First it took a fairly long time to do the paperwork partly my fault as I did not have the paper copy of the driving license. Second when we were sent outside there seemed to be no system we were sent out and told to just press the unlock button in the dark amongst about 3 other people which was not ideal as we went to the same vehicle a few times. Then when I drove off, the next day the car would not start eventually after 3 hours the RAC came out and eventually told me it was because the car had to be immobilised by putting my foot on the clutch. I would have appreciated been told this when I took the car. I told the branch and they rightly said "How did you drive it away from the branch?" I said it was by pure chance as when I get in to any unfamiliar car I always have my foot on the clutch in case it is in gear. Therefore I do to deem it necessary to do it again as I always leave it in neutral thereafter. On a positive note they were very helpful when I asked to swap the place of return from heathrow to stansted. Vehicle was fine by the way. #

  • Waited an hour at Europcar before car paperwork was processed, very offhand service, tried to push additional services, claimed insurance policy I arranged was not adequate and I needed to agree to Europcar insurance, which I refused. Then pointed in direction of car lot and told to "pick a car" no service or assistance from staff (none to be seen) Difficult to establish list of minor external damage so as to avoid being charged on return. Summary :- Would not recommend Europcar (London) to any car hirers. #

  • Collection of vehicle was via a free bus out to airport perimeter but return instructions from car hire company were not provided. I was able to get them over the phone though. Also, the car hire company which I used had far fewer buses than the other companies, resulting in a long wait to leave the airport. There was a good choice of cars and no problems with the one we chose. It was unlimited milage. Excess insurance was expensive at £1250 so I took out an independent insurance policy for £50 against this. This saved me over £100 against their own best quote for my month's car hire. ref: Alamo/Europcar #

  • Car was good value , not very clean inside but spacious. BUT I I had to wait more than two hours to collect. Absurd and somewhat infuriating. Chaotic office. Given car with different number from number plate, paper work missing on return. None of which seemed to matter to them. I have since seen that this company often has bad reviews so will endeavour not to rent from them unless I have lots of spare time. Staff were polite and helpful however, particularly on return. #

We had to endure a very long waiting time and eventually the car that was booked was provided in a dirty condition. We will not be using the car rental company again due to the poor service and rental experience. #

I do think the car plus petrol policy plus full cover puts the price up and knowing that i will need to rent again in 6 weeks i will shop around first which is a shame, but if price wasnt an issue i would use you again. customer service was excellent #

  • Car was ready to pick up. The vehicle was clean inside and ran well though it many bumps and scrapes on the outside... not necessarily a bad thing when hiring a car. We hired the car from Green motion at the Holiday Inn at Sipson road. They were very professional and helpful. If coming from London you're much better off coming by bus from Hampstead heath than the shuttle bus from Heathrow which is what car hire search recommends. the hotel hopper bus is very expensive. #

  • At the terminal, the staff member was helpful and friendly, quickly initiating the process. The minibus driver was prompt, friendly and helpful, offering tips/directions when returning the car. When at the pick-up, the staff member actually came out to meet/greet us and the car was ready. I have never had such great service from a rental car firm before. I am regularly returning to the UK from NZ and will use Enterprise again. Thank You! #

I made a booking, gave my credit card details and got a confirmation ONLY to get an email the following day on the eve of my travels cancelling my rental, leaving me no time what so ever to re book and find a suitable car. I flew in from Dubai heading home to London car less with no car available. I think they were totally unprofessional and I will never use them again! #

  • Very stressful experience-the Easirent office is a good 12 minute bus ride(free)from Terminal 3 and it takes about the same time to walk to the bus stop in the terminal.The Easirent staff member accused me (incorrectly)of damaging the front of the car and refused to apologize-joke and unpleasant people to deal with. #

  • Pick-up at Heathrow fine. Until I wanted a new "Damages sheet" when I was expected to queue again - not happy about that. I did not need the car as long as expected, I was THEN advised that my "Rate" did not allow for such changes. I had NOT been told that when booking online. I was advised that I would get a refund on the insurance element of the cost by credit to my credit card account - 10 days later that has not happened! Basically fine, apart from the niggly things which irritate. The gateman at Heathrow definately needs a "customer care" lesson! #

  • Picking up the car at Heathrow was very good - good service, the car was ready (and brand new). All worked well. Dropping it off at Bristol, on the other hand, wasn't so good. We had an early flight so the office was shut. But the instructions for how to drop off the paperwork were very unclear. The notice at the car park said to drop off the keys and papers in the box at the office, but there was no space to drop off the papers. In the end we forced them into the key-only drop-off box, but it wasn't easy and we were very confused. #

  • I booked a "Premium Convertible 2dr" - described as seating 4 with 5 suitcases. They booked a Mercedes SLK with Sixt, which is a 2 seater. It took 3 days and multiple calls and emails to geet this reservation cancelled, as they said there was no availability for the car as advertised. I then made a reservation directly with Sixt - same dates and location - for a "Premium Convertible 2dr", specifically a Mercedes E-Class - which has 4 seats. Such a ridiculous waste of time all round. #

  • The car was in very good condition and drove well. The pick up service was relatively poor. The car hire service was some didtance from the airport terminal and no curtesy service provided. The service was slsow and inefficient - little explanation given of the car, which was ready and not enough attention to detail. Drop off was easy but you then had to use the commercial shuttle bus to get to the terminal. #

  • The reason for the low customer service rating is for using a provider which is OFF AIRPORT. One only discovers this after the booking has been made and the provider details are revealed. Not only is Green Motion not at Heathrow Airport but you have to pay £4.50 on the Hotel Hoppa Service each way to the pick up location. I find this totally unacceptable when clearly booking a car from the the airport. On arrival I had to wait 30 minutes for a HOTEL HOPPA and the journey time to the pick up was 35 minutes. As for the return journey...the first Hoppa was full, the second was delayed so I arrived at the airport 95 minutes after dropping the car! Luckily I had allowed extra time. #
