Heathrow Airport Guide
Heathrow is the world's busiest international airport. Regarded as the hub of the aviation world, around 90 airlines have made Heathrow their base. The airport has five terminals and serves over 180 destinations in over 90 countries.
Before setting out for the Heathrow Airport you are advised to check which terminal you will be leaving from. 1, 2 and 3 are located next to each other at the centre of Heathrow, whilst Terminal 4 is located to the south of the airport and has a separate entrance. The newly opened terminal 5 handles all British Airways traffic.
Heathrow is situated close to two motorways - the M4 and the M25. If you are using a sat-nav some useful postcodes are: Terminal 1: TW6 1AP, Terminal 2: TW6 1EW, Terminal 3: TW6 1QG, Terminal 4: TW6 3XA, Terminal 5: TW6 2GA
Don't miss out on one of Heathrow Airport's secrets. Shopping Collection is a totally free service for passengers travelling within the EU. Perfect for stocking-up on great airport shopping without becoming laden down.
All of Heathrow Airport's terminals have similar facilities. Nearly every high street store is featured at Heathrow Airport including Boots, Austin Reed and WH Smiths.
Heathrow Airport provide well for the disabled. Help points are located on terminal forecourts, in short stay car parks, in stations and in baggage reclaim halls. They can also be found on some routes within terminals where there are long walking distances. Help points are green with a location map and two telephones - one for calling a Skycap porter and the other (generally green) for use by people with special needs who require assistance. Assistance is free if you have special needs and you can request wheelchair push/provision or help with baggage in order to reach check-in.
