Heraklion Airport Guide
Heraklion Airport ? official name is the Nikos Kazantzakis Airport, named for the famous Cretan writer best known for "Zorba the Greek", but it is usually referred to as Heraklion Airport. It may also be spelled Iraklion ? is located 5 kilometres east of Heraklion, and can be easily reached from Icarou Street.
Once at Heraklion Airport, there is parking for up to 500 vehicles. Inside Heraklion Airport there is an Information Desk that is open 24 hours a day, and a few shops including two duty free. Other amenities are limited as this is only a small airport, but there is a restaurant as well as six snack bars to choose from.
For the travelling business person at Heraklion Airport there is a VIP lounge (located in the check-in area) but no other business facilities available.
There is an ATM point in the Departures area, as well as several pay phones. Facilities for disabled people include reserved parking spaces, ramps and toilets that are easily accessible to wheelchair users.
