Montpellier Airport - full name Montpellier Méditerranée Airport - is located in the Mauguio-Carnon municipality. Use the Montpellier-Est exit (exit 29) from motorway A9. Montpellier Airport is ranked as the 9th largest airport in France and the main airport in the Languedoc. There are buses and taxis available to and from Montpellier Airport. Two short-stay car parks (P2/P3) and one long-stay car park (P4) are available once you get to Montpellier Airport.
Once inside Montpellier Airport you will come across several good cafes and a restaurant La Terrasse du Sud, where you can find refreshments. There are only a few shops at Montpellier Airport. One of them, Espace Méditerranée describes itself as a shop dedicated to the specialities of the region and the 'Oc Wine Union' offers a range of regional products, including red wines, white wines and rose wines, most of which are gold medal winning labels. There is also a range of local olive oils as well as books about the region, wine tasting glasses and a few other ideas for presents.

"We waited 5 days for confirmation of our hire car, ended up phoning them to find out our chosen car wasn't available, a day before we were due to pick it up! the money for this car has been pending from our bank account for 2 weeks now! We have been away and come back again! Another car was arranged and payment removed from our account, so in other words it has cost more than double, and a lot of stress for my girlfriend as our trip was due to bereavement. "

"There was quite a long wait at the desk, but after that the process went smoothly. The car was ready but previous scrapes on the vehicle had not been recorded and I had to ask the desk employee to accompany me to make a note of these. She did this promptly, but this was an unnecessary delay. These scrapes should have been noted on computer prior to my pick-up. This is an organisational procedure, which should have been better. On returning the vehicle I asked for it to be examined. which the desk employee willingly did. The staff members I dealt with were pleasant and I experienced no other problems."
