Carcassonne Airport, also known as Salvaza Airport, is located 3 miles outside of Carcassonne. You can access the airport via exit 23 on the A61 motorway. Look out for signs reading Carcassonne Aeroport. Carcassonne is in the Aude département of France.

Car hire services on site are provided by French car rental companies LOV Location and Ada as well as Avis, Europcar, Hertz. The car hire desks are located directly opposite the terminal building.

As Carcassonne Airport is small (served only by Ryanair), there is a limited amount of shops and facilities. You will find the usual Duty Free shop, newsagents/tobacconists as well as a shop selling local produce. Along with the basic facilities of toilets, baby changing amenities and telephones, there is also a fantastic restaurant at Carcassonne Airport, Le Salvaza, which is well worth a visit. You can fly into Carcassonne Airport from Liverpool, Nottingham and Stansted Airports in the UK and from Cork and Shannon in Ireland. From March 31st 2009 Ryanair will be flying 3 times a week between Edinburgh and Carcassonne.

Carcassonne Airport provide a shuttle bus from the airport to Carcassonne. The bus stops at the railway station, the Place Davilla, the Place Gambetta and La Cite. There is also the Aerobus, which provides transportation from Carcassonne Airport to Carcassonne and the entire region.
